2009 Joe Oldfield $1,000 Conservation Sponsorship

Requirements:

·         Sweetwater County resident

·         3^rd and 4^th year students accepted at a state college/university, and accredited institutions for fall of 2009

·         Majoring in a conservation or agricultural-related field (biology, botany, forestry, environmental studies, teacher/naturalist, etc.)

·         Essay: “Why I am majoring in the field of conservation.”

Sponsorship will be announced:

·         in the Rocket Miner and other local newspapers

·         online on SWCCD website (http://www.swccd.us)

Application should contain:

·         Applicant information: name, address, phone number, email

·         Current GPA

·         Letter of acceptance from a college or university.

·         Essay: 250-500 words, word processed, double-spaced

SWCCD Board will review applications and make all final decisions. Sponsorship will be announced and a check issued September 3, 2009.

Scholarships will be awarded by SWCCD Board by September 3, 2009.
